TVK has abandoned poll promises, claims Palaniswami

Edappadi Palaniswami, the principal opposition leader in Tamil Nadu, launched a scathing attack on the current government Tuesday, asserting that the ruling coalition has reneged on promises made to voters. Addressing party workers, Palaniswami contended that administrative dysfunction has become endemic across state departments.

"Chaos prevails across every department, with no coherent direction or clarity emerging from the top," Palaniswami said. He attributed the breakdown to poor inter-departmental coordination, which he claimed was hampering the execution of various government schemes and initiatives.

The former Chief Minister's remarks come amid growing criticism of the state administration's performance on key development metrics. Opposition parties have consistently raised concerns about the pace of implementation of flagship programmes that were central to the government's election campaign.

Palaniswami's comments underscore the intensifying political battle between the ruling coalition and opposition factions in Tamil Nadu, with administrative efficiency emerging as a significant flashpoint ahead of forthcoming electoral contests in the state.
