TVS Supply Chain Solutions and Japan-based Sankyu Inc announced their strategic partnership on Monday, aimed at strengthening service offerings across South Asia and beyond. Under the collaboration framework, Sankyu will acquire a 0.5 per cent stake in TVS SCS, contingent upon customary regulatory approvals from Indian authorities.
The memorandum of understanding encompasses a comprehensive range of supply chain and engineering services, including logistics, warehousing, transportation, maintenance and on-site industrial support. Through this union, both companies aim to deliver integrated solutions to manufacturing and industrial customers seeking enhanced operational efficiency and cost optimization.
Initial focus will centre on India's manufacturing sector, where both entities identify substantial growth opportunities. The partnership leverages TVS SCS's established domestic presence and operational expertise alongside Sankyu's global supply chain infrastructure and technological capabilities. TVS SCS said the collaboration positions both companies to address complex logistics challenges facing India's expanding industrial base.
The partnership is expected to evolve gradually, with expansion into markets across Asia, the Middle East and Africa as the companies identify complementary opportunities. This move underscores continued Japanese investor interest in India's logistics and supply chain sector, which has witnessed significant modernization and growth in recent years amid rising manufacturing activity and e-commerce expansion.
