Twenty injured as RTC bus overturns on Tirupati-Madanapalle route

A Tirupati-bound RTC bus overturned on the Tirupati-Madanapalle highway on Wednesday, leaving 20 passengers injured. The vehicle went off the road and fell into a nearby culvert following the incident.

According to police investigation, the bus was travelling at high speed when one of its tyres burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The sudden loss of traction led to the bus veering off the highway and subsequently overturning.

Emergency services responded to the scene and rushed the injured passengers to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The severity of injuries ranged from minor to moderate, with authorities yet to confirm if any passengers sustained critical injuries.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the exact circumstances leading to the accident. Officials stressed that speed management and regular vehicle maintenance remain critical factors in preventing such incidents on state highways.
