Two arrested after 16-year-old rescued from sexual exploitation

Police have detained two suspects in connection with the sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old, who has since been rescued and taken into protective custody.

The investigation has been initiated under Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007, which addresses human trafficking offences, as well as Section 372(1)(e) of the Penal Code, which covers child sexual exploitation.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of the rescue or the identities of those arrested. The case underscores ongoing concerns about child exploitation networks operating within the region.

The teenager is receiving support services through official victim protection channels. Law enforcement agencies continue their investigation into the matter as authorities work to determine the full extent of the exploitation and whether additional suspects may be involved.
