Two arrested for IIT Goa exam fraud after airport device seizure

Two persons have been booked for allegedly attempting to cheat in an Indian Institute of Technology Goa recruitment examination after they were apprehended with prohibited Bluetooth devices at Dabolim Airport. The CISF, which provides security at the airport, discovered the electronic gadgets during routine screening procedures, triggering an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their possession.

Following their detention, the suspects were subjected to joint interrogation by multiple intelligence and security agencies to determine the extent and nature of their involvement in the alleged examination fraud. The investigation revealed the devices were intended to facilitate unauthorized communication during the recruitment test.

Based on findings from the interrogation process, the two individuals were transferred to the Dabolim airport police station, where a formal case was registered against them. Authorities have launched a broader inquiry to establish whether other persons were involved in the suspected cheating scheme or if similar attempts were made during other examination sessions.

The incident underscores growing concerns about exam fraud attempts across India's premier educational institutions and has prompted a review of security protocols at examination centers. IIT Goa and the Central Bureau of Investigation are coordinating with airport security authorities to prevent future incidents of this nature.
