The Southern Police District (SPD) reported Tuesday that operatives from the Pasay City Police Station Sub-Station 10 arrested the two suspects in connection with the pawn-and-collect fraud scheme. The men allegedly impersonated condominium owners while targeting unsuspecting victims in the city.

Authorities said the scam involved convincing the victim to hand over money under the premise of a property transaction or financial arrangement typical of "sangla-kolekta" schemes, wherein individuals pose as legitimate property owners seeking to pawn or liquidate assets. The fraudsters succeeded in obtaining P364,000 from their victim before being apprehended.

The SPD did not immediately disclose additional details regarding the suspects' identities or the specific method used to lure the victim. Investigators are determining whether the suspects targeted other victims through similar schemes. The case has been turned over to appropriate prosecution authorities for further legal proceedings.
