The fatal accident happened at approximately 1 p.m. on September 4 when the truck inadvertently entered a flooded portion of Balucuc Bypass Road in Apalit town. The vehicle submerged rapidly in the floodwaters, trapping both occupants inside.
The Apalit Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) was notified of the incident and immediately coordinated a search and rescue operation to locate the two victims. Emergency responders worked to recover the brothers as floodwaters continued to affect the roadway.
The incident underscores the dangers posed by severe flooding in low-lying areas of Pampanga, particularly along major thoroughfares where floodwaters can accumulate rapidly. Motorists were advised to exercise extreme caution when traversing roads affected by flooding and to heed warnings issued by local disaster management authorities.
