Two days of rainfall significantly ease Andhra Pradesh's monsoon deficit

Andhra Pradesh has recorded a substantial improvement in its monsoon rainfall position following two days of intense precipitation across the state. The cumulative deficit, which stood at 43 percent before the weather system moved through the region, has now declined to 22 percent, marking a significant recovery in just two days.
The improvement has been particularly pronounced in coastal districts. Visakhapatnam, which had been facing a severe shortfall of 53.2 percent, has seen its deficit plummet to just 3.6 percent following the heavy downpours. The dramatic reversal reflects the concentrated nature of rainfall from the weather system that developed over the Bay of Bengal.
The deep depression that triggered the rainfall has provided much-needed relief to agriculture-dependent regions across the state. Officials monitoring monsoon performance have noted that the two-day precipitation event has significantly altered the seasonal outlook for several districts, though overall monsoon coverage across Andhra Pradesh remains below normal for the period.
The state continues to track incoming weather systems as the monsoon season progresses. Agricultural experts have indicated that sustained rainfall in the coming weeks will be critical for determining final crop yields and replenishing water resources across the region.
