Two dead, 200 stilt homes destroyed in major fire
Firefighters discovered two bodies while battling a massive blaze that consumed approximately 200 waterfront dwellings. Search and rescue operations continue for a third missing person.

A devastating fire has swept through a settlement of stilt homes, leaving at least two people dead and hundreds of residents displaced. Emergency responders located the two bodies during firefighting operations at the waterfront community, which consists primarily of traditional wooden structures built over water.
The fire destroyed around 200 residential units in the densely populated area. The wooden construction and close proximity of the homes appear to have contributed to the rapid spread of the flames, making containment efforts challenging for the fire brigade.
Search operations remain ongoing for a third missing person who has not yet been accounted for. Rescue teams are continuing to comb through the affected area as recovery efforts proceed.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation once emergency response operations conclude. Local officials are also assessing the scale of displacement among residents who lost their homes in the incident.
