Two dead after SUV crashes fleeing police in Gua Musang

Two occupants of a Proton X70 sports utility vehicle were killed in a collision along a main road in Gua Musang on Wednesday after the driver fled from a police checkpoint. The vehicle crossed into the opposing lane at high speed before striking another car travelling in the opposite direction. Emergency responders attended the scene and pronounced two men dead at the location.
The fatal crash occurred as authorities were conducting routine vehicle checks at a checkpoint in the district. The circumstances that prompted the driver to evade the stop remain under investigation by local police.
The collision also involved occupants of the second vehicle, though details regarding additional casualties have not been confirmed at this stage. The Royal Malaysia Police have launched a formal investigation into the incident.
