Two dead, four injured in electrocution incident at Mumbai pandal

Six individuals suffered electric shock at a temporary drinking water stall located in the vicinity of a Ganesh pandal in the Lalbaug locality of Mumbai on Friday. Emergency responders rushed to the scene following reports of the incident and provided immediate medical assistance to those affected.

The exact cause of the electrocution is under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest faulty wiring or improper grounding at the water dispensing unit may have been responsible. Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched a formal inquiry into the incident.

A 12-year-old girl among those electrocuted remains in critical condition and is receiving intensive medical care at a local hospital. The other injured victims are reported to be in stable condition.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about safety standards at temporary structures erected during festival season in Mumbai. Municipal authorities have been urged to conduct inspections of pandals and allied infrastructure across the city to prevent similar tragedies.
