Two detained at Goa airport over Bluetooth cheating in IIT recruitment exam

Security personnel at Dabolim Airport in Goa have arrested two individuals on suspicion of using wireless technology to facilitate cheating during an IIT Goa recruitment examination. The Central Industrial Security Force recovered Bluetooth earpieces, SIM cards and examination admit cards from the suspects' belongings during the operation.

According to preliminary investigation, one of the detainees is suspected of impersonating another candidate to sit the examination. The use of Bluetooth devices suggests a coordinated effort to transmit answers or assistance to the examinee during the test.

Local police registered a case following the arrests. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about examination security and the use of advanced technology to circumvent protocols at recruitment tests across India's premier institutions. Authorities have launched further investigations to determine the full scope of the alleged malpractice and identify any additional individuals involved in the scheme.

IIT Goa has not yet issued an official statement regarding the matter or its implications for the recruitment process.
