Two people drowned in the Krishna river in separate incidents in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district on Tuesday. A 70-year-old cattle rearer was washed away while attempting to cross the river at Madhyalanka. Local authorities recovered the body following a search operation in the area.
In the second incident, a 25-year-old man drowned after the fishing boat he was operating with his parents capsized in the river. His parents managed to swim to safety and alert rescue teams, who subsequently recovered the body of the young man.
The incidents underscore the dangers posed by the Krishna river, particularly during periods of high water flow. Authorities have urged residents and those dependent on the river for livelihood to exercise caution and follow safety protocols while crossing or working on the water. Investigation into both incidents is underway.
