Two foreign nationals died following an electrical accident at the Conrad Hotel's swimming pool in Halasuru, Bengaluru, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Horiyat, 45, a citizen of Slovakia, and Alexander Maxialan, 59, from the Netherlands.
The incident took place at the luxury hotel's pool facility, where the two men came into contact with an electrical current. Emergency services responded to the scene, but both individuals were pronounced dead following the accident.
The Bengaluru police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Preliminary enquiries are focused on identifying potential electrical faults or maintenance lapses at the swimming pool facility. Hotel authorities are cooperating with investigating officers.
The incident has raised questions about safety protocols and regular electrical inspections at hospitality facilities in the city. Authorities said a detailed probe would determine whether negligence or equipment failure contributed to the fatal accident.
