Royal Malaysia Police arrested two men following a vehicle chase in Bukit Antarabangsa on Tuesday. The pursuit concluded with the apprehension of both suspects, who were subsequently taken into custody for questioning.
During a search of the suspects' pickup truck, police discovered a parang and a sickle, along with specialized tools commonly used in cable theft operations. The implements included a manhole cover opener, suggesting the men may have been involved in organized theft of copper cables and other valuable materials from utility infrastructure.
The arrests are part of ongoing police efforts to combat cable theft in the Klang Valley, a persistent problem that has disrupted telecommunications and electrical services across the region. Authorities have intensified operations targeting organized theft rings responsible for targeting public utilities.
The two suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue. Police have not disclosed further details regarding the men's identities or their intended targets at the time of arrest.
