Security personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested two associates of terrorist organizations in Kulgam district during a routine security checkpoint. The operation was conducted as part of ongoing counter-insurgency measures in the region.
The detained individuals were found carrying a Chinese-made pistol, live ammunition, and two grenades. Authorities recovered the weapons cache following a search of the suspects at the checkpoint.
The CRPF and SOG personnel foiled an apparent attempt by the suspects to flee the scene during the operation. Both individuals have been taken into custody for further questioning.
The arrest comes as security forces maintain heightened vigilance across Kashmir Valley to counter militant activities. Weapons and explosives recovered in such operations are regularly used to target security personnel and civilians in the region.
