Two more held in Secunderabad Army arms theft probe
Telangana police have detained two armoury in-charges in connection with the theft of weapons from an Indian Army facility in Secunderabad. The arrests follow the earlier apprehension of a retired havildar accused of orchestrating the heist.

The two armoury custodians were taken into custody by Telangana police on Monday as investigators deepened their probe into the unauthorised removal of military ordnance from the Secunderabad garrison. The detained personnel are suspected of providing access and assistance to the theft operation.
Retired havildar Mallesh, who was arrested previously, is believed to have masterminded the arms heist. Investigators are examining the complicity of the armoury staff in facilitating the removal of weapons from the secure facility.
The Secunderabad military installation falls under the jurisdiction of the Southern Command of the Indian Army. Police have registered cases under relevant sections and are conducting interrogations to establish the full extent of the theft and identify other individuals involved in the crime.
The case has raised concerns about security protocols at military armouries and the handling of sensitive inventory by custodial staff. Authorities are reviewing procedures at the facility to prevent similar incidents in the future.
