LUCENA CITY — Two men died in a motorcycle accident in San Francisco, Quezon, after their vehicle struck a concrete roadside barrier along a winding thoroughfare in Barangay Nasalaan on November 1.
The 29-year-old driver and his male passenger were traveling along the rural road when the motorcycle suddenly veered out of control, authorities said. The vehicle subsequently collided with the barrier, causing fatal injuries to both occupants.
Investigators noted that neither rider was wearing a protective helmet at the time of the incident. The absence of safety equipment has been cited as a contributing factor in fatalities involving two-wheeled vehicles in the region.
The incident underscores persistent concerns about road safety compliance among motorcycle users in Quezon province. Local authorities have renewed calls for stricter enforcement of helmet-wearing regulations and cautious driving practices on hazardous road sections.
