Two Pangasinan towns declare calamity as monsoon flooding persists
The municipalities of Infanta and Lingayen in Pangasinan have declared states of calamity as the southwest monsoon continues to bring heavy rains and widespread flooding to the region.

CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Two municipalities in Pangasinan have formally declared states of calamity in response to sustained flooding caused by the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat.
Infanta's municipal council approved Resolution No. 137, series of 2026, establishing the calamity declaration after persistent rainfall inundated communities throughout the jurisdiction. The action enables local authorities to mobilize emergency resources and seek assistance from provincial and national government agencies.
Lingayen similarly declared a state of calamity as monsoon-driven rains continued to impact residential areas and infrastructure. The prolonged weather system has affected numerous communities across both municipalities, with floodwaters disrupting daily activities and threatening livelihoods.
The declarations allow both local government units to implement relief operations, conduct damage assessments, and expedite rehabilitation efforts. Residents in low-lying barangays have been advised to remain vigilant as the habagat continues to bring moisture-laden winds across the region.
