MANILA — Police in Taguig City arrested two students on Monday for allegedly threatening to conduct a shooting at their educational institution, officials said.

The Taguig City Police Station confirmed the detention in a statement, noting that both students would undergo investigation for grave threats in connection with Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

Details regarding the nature of the threats, the school involved, and the students' identities were not immediately disclosed by authorities. The case follows growing concerns nationwide about school safety and the spread of threats through digital platforms.

The Cybercrime Prevention Act covers criminal offenses committed through the internet and other information technology systems, including threats and harassment. Police said further details would be released as the investigation progresses.
