Dr Gandhi, as the MP is identified, has confirmed that he has already filed formal objections with the electoral authorities regarding the omission. He has also submitted all requisite documentation to support his case for inclusion in the electoral registers.
Beyond his own name, Dr Gandhi has taken steps to ensure that his family members' names are also restored to the final electoral rolls ahead of their publication. The move comes as part of the standard electoral verification process undertaken by authorities before finalising voter lists.
