IPOH — A significant majority of Perakians believe their current income levels are sufficient for their needs, according to research conducted by Institut Darul Ridzuan in conjunction with the state's 2027 budget planning process.
The study found that approximately two-thirds of respondents expressed satisfaction with their earnings, suggesting a degree of financial stability among the state's population. However, the findings also highlight a notable gap between income adequacy and employment satisfaction.
Despite contentment with current pay levels, respondents identified job availability as a pressing concern. The research indicates that Perakians are actively seeking additional employment opportunities, reflecting broader economic aspirations and the desire for career advancement in the state.
The Institut Darul Ridzuan study appears to inform strategic priorities ahead of next year's state budget, with employment generation potentially emerging as a key policy focus. The findings suggest that while immediate financial pressures may not be acute, long-term economic growth and job creation remain central to resident welfare and satisfaction.
