Typhoon Champi showed no signs of weakening on Monday as it continued its westward trajectory toward Philippine territory, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its latest weather bulletin released at 11 a.m., Pagasa reported that the typhoon remained robust while still positioned outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). The agency has been closely monitoring the system's movement and intensity as it approaches the archipelago.
Meteorologists expect Champi to enter the PAR in the coming hours. Residents in the northern and central portions of the country have been advised to monitor updates from the weather bureau for potential impacts including heavy rainfall, strong winds, and rough seas.
Pagesa continues to issue regular advisories as the typhoon draws closer, urging communities to prepare necessary precautions and ensure emergency response systems are in readiness.
