Typhoon Choi-wan's outer bands to drench Visayas, Mindanao

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday evening that the outer bands of Typhoon Choi-wan will sustain rainfall across the Visayas and Mindanao, despite the system remaining beyond the Philippine area of responsibility.

According to Pagasa's latest advisory, the trough associated with the typhoon will continue to influence weather patterns over southern and central portions of the archipelago through the coming days. Residents in affected areas were advised to remain vigilant against potential flooding and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous communities.

In contrast, the capital region and northern portions of Luzon are expected to benefit from fair weather conditions as the system's influence gradually weakens. Pagasa officials indicated that the rainfall threat over Visayas and Mindanao would gradually diminish as the typhoon tracks further away from the Philippines, with conditions expected to improve by midweek.
