Typhoon Rosal maintains intensity; two areas remain on high alert

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported in its 5 a.m. bulletin that Typhoon Rosal continued to maintain considerable force as it moved over the sea off the Batanes region.

Two areas were placed under TCWS No. 2, indicating that residents in those zones faced potential damage from strong winds and were advised to take precautionary measures. The signal level indicated that gale-force winds were expected in the affected areas within the next 24 to 36 hours.

Pagesa's monitoring team continued to track the typhoon's movement and strength throughout the morning, with the storm positioned over open waters. Officials urged residents in alert areas to remain vigilant and secure loose outdoor objects that could be hazardous during high winds.

The weather bureau was expected to issue updated bulletins as the typhoon's position and intensity changed, with particular attention to potential impacts on northern Philippine coastal communities.
