The USS Tulsa (LCS 16), a Littoral Combat Ship of the United States Navy, departed Colombo harbour on 9 October following a replenishment stop at the island's main port. The vessel had arrived on 7 October for the scheduled port call, which included logistical and supply operations.

Upon its departure, the Sri Lanka Navy extended customary naval courtesies to the departing American warship, reflecting the established protocols observed during international naval visits. Such gestures underscore the maritime traditions and professional relationships maintained between naval forces in the region.

The USS Tulsa, part of the U.S. Navy's Littoral Combat Ship class, is designed for operations in coastal and shallow-water environments. The ship's visit to Colombo formed part of routine naval operations and engagement activities in South Asian waters.

The port call represented continued naval coordination in the Indian Ocean region, where the U.S. Navy maintains regular operational and logistical presence. Such visits facilitate supply replenishment, crew rest, and maintenance operations for naval vessels transiting the region.
