Ismael Bonfim weighed in at 163.5 pounds for his UFC Vegas 122 encounter with Francisco Prado, significantly exceeding the required weight limit for their scheduled bout. The fighter's failure to make the stipulated weight class prompted UFC officials to adjust the fight parameters to catchweight status, allowing the contest to proceed despite the discrepancy.

As a consequence of missing weight, Bonfim has been required to forfeit 25 percent of his purse, a standard penalty imposed by the UFC in such circumstances. The financial sanction serves as a deterrent against weight-cutting failures and compensates the opposing fighter, who made weight as required.

The adjustment to catchweight rules means both fighters will compete outside the traditional weight class structure, with the bout proceeding under modified conditions. Such scenarios are not uncommon in professional mixed martial arts, where weight-related complications occasionally necessitate last-minute adjustments to scheduled matchups.
