Ugandan man held at BIA with 90 cocaine capsules in stomach
A 43-year-old Ugandan farmer has been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport after authorities discovered he had swallowed nearly 90 capsules of cocaine before travelling to Sri Lanka. The suspect was intercepted by the Customs Narcotics Control Unit during his arrival at the airport in Katunayake.

The Ugandan national, identified as a farmer, allegedly ingested the cocaine capsules in Entebbe, Uganda, before embarking on his journey. He travelled from Uganda through Doha, Qatar, before proceeding to Sri Lanka, where he was apprehended upon arrival.
The Customs Narcotics Control Unit detected the illicit cargo during routine screening procedures at the airport. The arrest represents a significant drug interception at the country's primary international gateway and underscores ongoing efforts to combat transnational narcotics trafficking through Sri Lanka's borders.
