UK wedding venue evacuated after workers discover five WWII bombs

Workers at The Great Tythe Barn, a prominent wedding venue in Britain, stumbled upon the explosive devices while digging a trench for solar panel installation. Initially unaware of their discovery, the workers mistook the objects for broken pipes until the distinctive metal fins of the ordnance became visible.

Upon recognizing the potential danger, emergency services were immediately alerted and moved swiftly to secure the area. Authorities established a 200-metre exclusion zone around the site and evacuated all guests and nearby residents as a precautionary measure.

Experts subsequently identified the devices as German explosives from World War II. Bomb disposal teams conducted a controlled detonation to safely neutralize the ordnance, preventing any risk to public safety.

The discovery highlights how unexploded ordnance from World War II continues to surface across Britain decades after the conflict ended. Similar finds have been reported periodically in various regions, serving as reminders of the war's lingering physical legacy on the British landscape.
