Ukraine Reports Starlink Service Restored After Week-Long Connectivity Issues

Ukraine's armed forces reported on Thursday that Starlink satellite internet connectivity has returned to normal operating levels after experiencing significant slowdowns that persisted throughout the previous week. The temporary service limitations had created operational challenges for military communications and drone deployment efforts during a sensitive timeframe in the ongoing conflict.

The restrictions on bandwidth and connection speeds had forced Ukrainian military units to adapt their tactical communications protocols while maintaining defensive operations. Drone operators and command centers reliant on the satellite service faced reduced capabilities during the week-long disruption.

Starlink, the satellite internet provider operated by SpaceX, has become a critical communications infrastructure for Ukrainian forces since Russia's invasion began in February 2022. The service has proven essential for maintaining connectivity in areas where ground-based telecommunications networks have been damaged or destroyed.

Ukrainian officials did not specify the cause of the service degradation but confirmed that technical measures had resolved the connectivity issues. The restoration comes as Ukraine continues to rely heavily on external telecommunications support for military and civilian operations across the country.
