Ukraine's Defence Ministry has confirmed that satellite communication systems Starlink and Starshield have returned to full operational speeds exceeding 400 km/h, marking a significant recovery after a period of degraded performance.
The satellite networks are essential infrastructure for Ukraine's military operations, enabling secure communications, threat interception capabilities, and logistics coordination. Recent disruptions to these systems had substantially compromised operational effectiveness and the ability to detect and respond to incoming threats.
Defence Minister Evhenii Khmara underscored the strategic importance of restoring these communication speeds, noting their critical role in sustaining military readiness and response capabilities during the ongoing security situation.
The restoration addresses vulnerabilities that had emerged in Ukraine's communications infrastructure. Reliable satellite connectivity remains a cornerstone of the country's defence strategy, particularly for coordinating responses across distributed military units and maintaining situational awareness.
