Ukrainian drones strike Crimea infrastructure, Russian petrochemical facility

Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles conducted widespread strikes on infrastructure in Russian-occupied Crimea, triggering significant disruptions to power and water services across the peninsula. Authorities imposed restrictions on utility distribution, though precise figures on affected households were not immediately disclosed.

In a separate but concurrent operation, Ukrainian drones struck a petrochemical facility in Togliatti, a major industrial city in Russia's Samara Oblast region. The attack triggered explosions and fires at the plant, marking an escalation in Ukraine's campaign against Russian energy and industrial infrastructure.

Russian defence officials stated they had successfully intercepted numerous Ukrainian drones over both Crimea and the Togliatti region. However, the military acknowledged that falling debris from intercepted missiles and drones caused injuries, underscoring the broader impact of sustained aerial operations across the conflict zone.

The coordinated strikes represent part of Ukraine's broader strategy to degrade Russian military capability and industrial output supporting the war effort. Such operations have increasingly targeted infrastructure beyond front-line positions, stretching Russian air defence resources across vast distances.
