UltraTech Cement Deploys 600+ Electric Trucks With Major Auto Partners

UltraTech Cement, the country's largest cement producer, is rolling out an extensive fleet of electric trucks in collaboration with Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, and other commercial vehicle manufacturers. The partnership underscores the cement industry's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and adopting cleaner logistics solutions amid growing environmental pressures and regulatory mandates.

The electric truck fleet will serve UltraTech's distribution network across seven states: Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. These regions represent key markets for the company's cement products and account for significant portions of its logistics operations across central and western India.

The move aligns with India's broader push toward electric vehicle adoption in the commercial transport sector, which has traditionally relied heavily on diesel-powered vehicles. Fleet electrification in cement logistics addresses both sustainability goals and mounting operational costs associated with conventional fuels.

The deployment of over 600 electric trucks reflects growing industry recognition that large-scale fleet transitions are essential to meet India's climate commitments and reduce air pollution.
