Ultraviolette to invest ₹779 crore in Tamil Nadu EV manufacturing facility

Ultraviolette, a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is ramping up manufacturing capacity with a substantial investment in Tamil Nadu as demand for affordable electric vehicles accelerates across India. The company plans to establish a facility in Hosur with a capital outlay of ₹779 crore, positioning itself to capture a larger share of the country's burgeoning EV market.

The manufacturing plant will commence operations with an annual production capacity of 250,000 electric two-wheelers, addressing the growing consumer preference for sustainable mobility solutions in India's mass-market segment. The facility is designed with scalability in mind, with potential to double output to 500,000 units annually as market demand warrants further expansion.

The investment reflects Ultraviolette's confidence in India's electric two-wheeler segment, which has witnessed significant growth as consumers increasingly shift away from conventional fuel-based vehicles. The Tamil Nadu facility will complement the company's existing operations and strengthen its distribution network across South India.
