UMNO launches fund to help Najib pay RM50 million fine

UMNO has launched a dedicated fund to help cover RM50 million in fines owed by Najib Razak, the party announced on Wednesday. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the party president, confirmed that the initiative would be funded through voluntary contributions from party members and supporters. Zahid stated that the fund would be managed with full transparency and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The move comes as Najib faces significant financial obligations following his legal proceedings. Party officials emphasised that participation in the contribution scheme is entirely voluntary, with donors free to give at their discretion. The initiative underscores UMNO's continued support for its former leader during a challenging period.
