Umno's Islamic Council Pushes for Formal PAS Alliance Framework

The chairman of Umno's Muslim Scholars Council has advocated for establishing a formal framework governing the relationship between Umno and PAS, emphasising that such an arrangement could yield greater benefits for Malaysia's broader Muslim population.

Dusuki Ahmad stated that formalising ties between the two parties would strengthen their ability to address issues of concern to Islamic communities across the country. He suggested that a structured approach to cooperation would enable more effective coordination on matters affecting Muslims in Malaysia.

The call reflects ongoing discussions about deepening political collaboration between Umno and PAS, both of which draw substantial support from Malay-Muslim voters.
