Umno's Melaka State Election Candidacy Still Under Negotiation, Says PAS

PAS General Secretary Takiyuddin Hassan has dismissed speculation that Umno will contest the Melaka state election independently, stating that negotiations between the three coalitions are still in progress. His remarks addressed concerns raised by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's non-attendance at Umno's recent gathering, which had sparked questions about the party's electoral strategy for the state poll. "Discussions involving PAS, Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional regarding cooperation in the Melaka state election are still ongoing," Takiyuddin said, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the talks.
