Umno Youth Leader Defends Party Members Facing Accusations

Umno Youth Chief Akmal Amarullah has rallied behind party members confronting various accusations, stating that facing allegations does not constitute a finding of guilt.
In remarks defending his colleagues, Akmal drew a clear distinction between being accused and being convicted, asserting that the party should not preemptively consider members guilty based on allegations alone.
"There is no reason for us to be ashamed," Akmal said, emphasising that individuals must be afforded the presumption of innocence pending legal proceedings or investigation outcomes.
His comments come as several Umno figures navigate legal challenges and public scrutiny. Akmal's stance reflects the party's effort to maintain confidence in its leadership while members address ongoing allegations through appropriate legal channels.
