Uno Minda, a leading supplier to India's automotive sector, unveiled plans on Tuesday to deploy ₹1,415 crore in capital expenditure as part of a strategic growth initiative spanning its core business divisions. The investment aims to address capacity constraints and enhance operational efficiency across manufacturing facilities.
The company will establish a greenfield aluminium casting unit in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an estimated capital outlay of ₹510 crore. This new facility will enable Uno Minda to consolidate and relocate its existing Hosur operations, which have reached maximum expansion capacity at their current location. The new facility will be set up on an existing land parcel at Thally Road in Hosur, with relocation scheduled for completion by the first quarter of financial year 2026.
The expansion will substantially boost aluminium casting capacity at the Hosur location to 34,000 metric tonnes annually at full operational capacity, up from the present 13,000 metric tonnes. Alongside this, Uno Minda will expand and relocate its two-wheeler alloy wheel manufacturing operations at Kharkhoda in Haryana as part of the same investment programme.
The multi-pronged capital expenditure plan reflects the company's confidence in sustained demand from India's automotive industry and its commitment to strengthening its competitive position in the component manufacturing sector.
