UP Deputy CM promises Union minister meeting with anti-reservation protesters

Pathak made the assurance at a press conference in Lucknow, where he appeared alongside representatives of the protest movement currently camped at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. He said the state government was committed to supporting youth aspirations and would facilitate dialogue to address what he termed the protesters' "justified demands."

"The demands of the students' delegation have been heard carefully and they have been assured of appropriate action," Pathak said. He pledged that a letter submitted by the students would be forwarded to the BJP's central leadership for consideration.

The anti-reservation movement, which has drawn significant attention in recent weeks, is being led by activists including Harsh Dubey, Mrityunjay Pathak and Shiva Sharma. The protesters have been demanding reforms to the existing reservation system in educational institutions and government services.

Pathak indicated the government would pursue constructive engagement with the student delegation, emphasizing the administration's commitment to working through dialogue rather than confrontation. The promised meeting with a Union minister represents an escalation of government-level engagement with the protest movement.
