UP High Court Acquits Woman Convicted in Deaths of Three Children
A two-judge bench of the Uttar Pradesh High Court has set aside the conviction and sentences of a woman and her alleged partner in a case involving the deaths of three children. The court found insufficient evidence to sustain the convictions against the accused.

The High Court bench comprising Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Jai Krishna Upadhyay on Tuesday quashed the conviction and sentences imposed on Priyanka and Ashish, also known as Daini, her alleged partner in the case. The bench found the evidence presented by the prosecution to be inadequate to secure conviction under the charges brought against them.
The case had attracted significant attention in the state judiciary following the initial conviction. However, upon review, the appellate bench determined that the prosecution had failed to establish its case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to the acquittal of both accused.
