A head constable with the Uttar Pradesh Police in Chitrakoot has been suspended following a video that purportedly showed him in an inebriated state lying in an awkward position on a chair.
The incident came to light after the video circulated on social media, prompting action from senior police officials. A team from the Dial 112 emergency response unit located the officer and transported him to a hospital for medical examination.
Following the medical assessment, the matter was escalated to senior police leadership. The Superintendent of Police took swift action by suspending the head constable and ordering a departmental inquiry into the incident.
The suspension reflects growing concerns about professional conduct within the force and the department's commitment to maintaining discipline among its personnel. The departmental investigation is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and recommend further action as warranted.
