MANILA — The University of the Philippines system has qualified for the 2024 Performance-Based Bonus, the Department of Budget and Management announced Friday, recognizing the collective achievements and service contributions across the institution. Acting DBM Secretary Kim Robert C. De Leon disclosed that eligible personnel throughout the UP network can anticipate receiving the bonus payments by the end of 2026.

The bonus approval reflects the system's demonstrated performance standards and institutional effectiveness over the assessment period. Distribution of funds is expected to proceed through established DBM protocols for performance-based compensation across government agencies and institutions.

Simultaneously, UP Manila has successfully regularized 179 contractual staff positions, transitioning these personnel to permanent employment status. The regularization represents a significant administrative action aimed at providing job security and benefits to long-serving temporary employees at the Manila campus.

The dual developments underscore ongoing efforts within the UP system to enhance employee welfare and recognize institutional contributions. Officials indicated that further details regarding bonus disbursement timelines and eligibility criteria would be communicated to department heads and affected personnel through official channels.
