MANILA — The University of the Philippines plans to pursue amendments to its approved P26.5-billion budget following a significant reduction by the Department of Budget and Management, which halved the institution's original proposal.
UP President Angelo Jimenez said Friday the budget cut poses serious risks to the university's operations and strategic initiatives. The reduced allocation threatens to delay long-pending infrastructure development projects and could hamper efforts to expand the institution's research capabilities, he indicated.
