UPS pensioners must submit life certificates by November 30

Unified Pension Scheme pensioners have been directed to submit their life certificates before November 30 to continue receiving their monthly pension payments. The government has introduced a digital authentication method to streamline the traditionally cumbersome process of submitting the mandatory annual proof of life.

The new system leverages Aadhaar-based face recognition technology, allowing retirees to complete the verification through a dedicated mobile application. This development aims to reduce bureaucratic delays and provide pensioners with a convenient alternative to in-person submission at bank branches or designated government offices.

Pensioners can access the mobile app to authenticate their identity using their Aadhaar number and facial recognition features. The process is designed to be user-friendly, eliminating the need for physical documentation submission in many cases.

The November 30 deadline is critical for UPS beneficiaries, as failure to submit the life certificate can result in suspension of pension disbursements. Pensioners are advised to complete the submission well before the deadline to avoid any disruption in their monthly payments.

Official channels have urged eligible retirees to familiarize themselves with the new digital submission method. Detailed instructions and technical support are expected to be available through government pension portals and the mobile application itself.
