US businessman expands Montana hospitality portfolio with new riverside lodge

Arthur Blank has marked a quarter-century of business ventures in Montana with the opening of Auster at Dome Mountain, a riverside hospitality destination situated along the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley. The property, acquired by Blank in December 2021, has undergone extensive redevelopment to create a comprehensive guest experience.

The lodge features newly constructed dining and retail facilities designed with public accessibility in mind. The development reflects Blank's commitment to creating welcoming hospitality spaces while maintaining standards expected of high-end mountain resorts in the region.

The Auster property marks another milestone in Blank's two-decade-plus investment strategy in Montana. Since his initial acquisition of a guest ranch in 2001, his portfolio has expanded to encompass four major properties across the state, positioning him as a significant player in Montana's luxury hospitality sector.

Blank's development projects have consistently emphasized conservation principles aligned with the Paradise Valley region's environmental character. The Auster project continues this approach, integrating public-facing amenities within a framework designed to respect the area's natural landscape and recreational heritage.
