US Embassy Opens Applications for Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange Program

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program, sponsored by the US Embassy, provides selected Bangladeshi students with a transformative educational experience through a one-year academic exchange in the United States. The initiative aims to foster mutual understanding and build lasting connections between young people from Bangladesh and America.

Eligible applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens aged 15-18 years old and currently enrolled in secondary school. Participants will be placed in American high schools and homestay families across various states, allowing them to experience American education and culture firsthand while sharing their own perspectives with their host communities.

The program covers comprehensive support including airfare, accommodation, health insurance, and educational expenses for selected participants. Students will also receive pre-departure orientation and ongoing support throughout their exchange year to ensure a successful and enriching experience.

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications through the official YES program portal. The application process typically includes an essay, interview, and school recommendations. Successful applicants will join a global network of YES alumni who have participated in this prestigious exchange program over its many years of operation.

Further details regarding application deadlines, eligibility requirements, and the selection process are available on the US Embassy website or through official YES program channels.
