Uttar Pradesh attracts ₹7,600 crore in fresh foreign direct investment

Uttar Pradesh has attracted ₹7,600 crore in fresh foreign direct investment proposals, marking a significant boost to the state's manufacturing sector. The investments span multiple industries including packaging, food processing, and plastics, signalling renewed investor confidence in the region's industrial infrastructure and business environment.

Five greenfield projects are slated for development across strategically located industrial areas. The proposed facilities will be established in Meerut, Unnao, Bijnor, and Kanpur Dehat, leveraging existing industrial clusters and connectivity networks in these regions. These locations offer proximity to major transportation corridors and established supplier ecosystems.

The FDI commitments underscore Uttar Pradesh's competitive positioning as a manufacturing destination. The state has been focusing on streamlining clearance processes and enhancing industrial infrastructure to attract large-scale investments. The packaging and food processing sectors, in particular, have emerged as growth areas driven by rising domestic consumption and export demand.

The investment announcements come as India continues to diversify its foreign investment sources amid global supply chain restructuring. Uttar Pradesh, as the country's most populous state, offers a large consumer base alongside established logistics networks, making it attractive for manufacturing operations targeting both domestic and export markets.
