Uttar Pradesh Board Mandates 100% Daily Online Attendance in Schools

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has issued a binding order making 100 per cent daily online attendance mandatory across all schools operating under its jurisdiction. The directive aims to establish a standardized digital record-keeping system to monitor student presence and ensure accountability at educational institutions across the state.

The board has specifically identified 33 districts where compliance with online attendance protocols has been severely inadequate, with registration rates falling to 10 per cent or lower. These districts have been flagged as priority areas requiring immediate intervention and implementation of the new attendance framework.

The mandate represents part of broader efforts by the education board to modernize administrative processes and create transparent oversight mechanisms. Digital attendance systems are expected to provide real-time data on student presence, facilitate better communication between schools and parents, and support informed decision-making regarding educational outcomes.
