Uttar Pradesh cabinet approves ethanol plant, toy manufacturing policy
The Yogi Adityanath government has greenlit proposals for an ethanol production facility in Mathura and a new toy manufacturing policy. The ethanol plant will be established at a defunct sugar mill site that has remained closed for nearly two decades.

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a proposal to revive a shuttered sugar mill in Chhata tehsil of Mathura district by converting it into an ethanol production facility. The mill, which ceased operations 19 years ago, will be repurposed to manufacture ethanol, potentially opening new avenues for value addition in the agricultural sector and generating employment in the region. Sugarcane Minister Chaudhary Lakshmi Narayan announced the decision, underscoring the government's commitment to revitalizing industrial infrastructure across the state. The revival project is expected to leverage Uttar Pradesh's substantial sugarcane production base, creating a synergy between agricultural output and industrial processing. Alongside the ethanol plant approval, the cabinet also cleared a new toy manufacturing policy aimed at boosting the domestic toy production sector and attracting investment to the state.
